Dog training that just makes sense

Dog training that just makes senseDog training that just makes sense

Hey There, I'm Brit

Where I started

My introduction to dog training happened as a kid, joining my family and our German Shepherds at obedience lessons and bitesports.  I later became a professional trainer through a big box pet store and worked with clients and their dogs within the store itself.

While the education I received was built on positive methods, the resources for new trainers was subpar, and the focus within the retail environment was on sales, rather than a quality experience for dogs and their owners.

It wasn't until I left the pet retail world for good and was challenged by my own dogs that I began to really dig into the meat of dog training and behavior, and improve my own understanding and skills.

Where I am now

I hold several certifications (see below), and am working toward earning my CPDT-KA through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.  I am also an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, which means I can administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program, CGC, AKC Community Canine, Urban CGC, Virtual Home Manners, and Trick Dog Tests.

I share my life with a cattledog mix, two border collies, and a Texas street mutt named Boris, Winona, Darcy, and Paul. Some of their favorite activities include: herding, tracking, scentwork, trick training, hiking in the woods, stalking chickens and shredding cardboard.
